I don't want to make any enemies out there, but I must speak the truth here. I hate to say it, but I see SO many so called fitness experts who just aren't doing what they're out there teaching people. It's more common to see an unfit fitness expert than it is to see one who's looks awesome. This might not annoy you, but it annoys the heck out of me and for good reason. If you're a client and you want a guarantee that your trainer will bring you the results you expect, just look at them. How do they look? If they look like crap, well guess what, call me a psychic, but I bet cha that you're goning to look pretty close to what you look like right now, even a year from now!
Yes there are some exceptions to the rule. Some trainers might actually be great trainers but just not look the part, but what a shame that is. Of course, if you've got a medical reason for not being able to train, this doesn't apply to you. If however you are healthy and able to train, what's the problem?
Get This: I heard a well known trainer the other day, saying something about how he wished he had the body of a well known male celebrity. Am I the only one who's shocked here?!? If you want to look like him so bad, fella, get up off your ass and make it happen! What's the problem pal? Do you even train?
If you want to seriously help people get in great shape and literally change their lives, than be an example for them! Show them that it can be done and that you, the person they're listening to, can actually do it. Imagine how empowering it is for a person to see that other average people can do what they have only dreamed of. This is what being a fitness expert is all about; being a mentor or even better, a living example of what these people can look forward to.
If you're not walking your hyped up talk, it's no better than being down in a ditch, asking for help and pulling people down into that ditch with you. You're not helping you're selling people a dream.
Sorry for the rant, but I want to see people stepping up to do the right thing!
