Most of us are used to monitoring our fitness results or (unfortunately) lack there of through the means of things like scales, measuring tapes, the mirror and from person-to-person feedback. I think that these can all be useful monitoring tools, some better than others, of course, but none the less, still good.

One of the major problems (It relates to my last Blog post entitled, “All Show & No Go”) with using these tools exclusively, is that they are limited. They don’t monitor your actual physicality. In fact, they ONLY measure your looks. It’s one thing to look good, which is awesome. But it’s another thing when you can make use of that great body and all of that hard earned muscularity, to physically perform and continuously improve on a consistent basis!

Real Life Feedback - Another Tool To Ensure Greater Fitness Results!

I implore my clients to include a sports specific hobby like racquetball into their training routine. Not only will it turn a one dimensional workout regimen into a totally exciting cross-training routine, but the sport specific hobby you choose, will provide you with what I call “Real Life Feedback”.

What better way to assess your improvements in physicality than by measuring your improvements through your sports performance! If you’re improving in the sport; faster, better reaction time, more energy, taking less breaks in between, etc., it’s a sure-fire sign that you’re getting in better shape.

Your Real Life Feedback will naturally be displayed during your sport specific play. If you weight train consistently, plus keep up with your sports play, you should expect to improve in your overall body conditioning (looks & physical performance).

It’s exactly like an athlete who’s in training to improve their physicality for their sport. If you aren’t improving with your sports performance, you either need to tweak your weight training regimen or you may need a few sports specific lessons!

Keep Going!
