For a pre-workout it is good to include carbohydrates so you will have the energy and fuel to do the physical fitness activities. Make sure you choose carbohydrates that are healthy and not filled with fats or sugar. Something like steel-cut oatmeal with maybe some Banana pieces and a few walnuts is a great source of carbohydrates that is good for you and can help you with filling you with energy.
Also, it has been found that coffee is something that you can drink in order to have some quick energy and get your blood pumping, but do not drink more than one cup because the caffeine will (could) begin to dehydrate you. I ALWAYS have a cup of coffee before my workouts. It gets me going and keeps me focused and full of energy.
Another good food idea before the workout is to eat peanut butter. Peanut butter is a good source of protein, which you will need to build the muscles that you are about to start working out in your training program. Ask me about my favorite healthy peanut butter dessert! It’s Awesome and Awesome for you!
As always you will want to sip water before, during, and after your workout in order to stay hydrated. Try and stay away from sport drinks because these have a lot of sugar and will (could) do more harm than good.
Keep Going!
