Five Stars: Explains the Science of diet, and more!

By  B. Young "B. Young, a poker enthuiast" (Omaha)

If you follow any form of athletics/sports today, you have probably heard the phrase, "Training and Nutrition are much more scientific today than they were in the past, so that the athletes of today are bigger, stronger and faster...etc." If you ever wondered what they meant by that, as I did, I believe this book will begin to show you what they mean.

I found the nutrition and supplement part of this book particularly interesting, because it shows the `science' of eating right. In this section the authors not only do a great job in breaking down the basics, like what are the good fats and bad fats, the good carbs and bad carbs, etc., but they also go into easily understood detail about what the body needs, and when it needs it. There are one or two paragraphs in this section about the post workout meal that they `guaranteed' would help increase your body sculpting results 10-fold, and after a few weeks of using it, I would have to agree that it is making a difference. Again, it's eating the right foods at the right times. They explain how and why.

Their explanation of proper form while exercising really struck home with me as well. Even though I always knew it was important, the reasons were never explained to me as clearly as they were in this book. Again, after reading their in depth descriptions of the various exercises and how to perform them correctly, I have begun seeing and feeling much better results from each of my workouts. Correct form targets and isolates the preferred muscle group in ways that poor form and cheating never do. As an example, I could never get a good `burn' in my chest workouts. After reading their descriptions on the chest exercises, I realized I was using too much of my shoulders in the exercises. They explained how to correct that and now I am getting the burn in my pecs that have avoided me for 20+ years of on again, off again, weight training.

Buy this book, and read it. You won't be disappointed.

Five Stars: A Foundation for Success

By  R. Malec (Michigan)

Whether you are in search for a program that will deliver great results or just looking for a foundation upon which you can create your own custom strength training program, the Body Sculpting Bible for Men, Revised Edition, is a great tool to help you achieve your fitness goals.

As a fan of the original book, I was pleased with the revisions and additional material included (DVD, FAQs throughout the book, updated workouts, etc). Yet it was great to see that the program is comprised of the same principles that made the plan so successful in the first place. The cornerstone of the program is the 14-day principle, which mixes up the entire routine every 14 days to maximize the body's response. Although I've experimented with different plans over the past few years, the 14-day approach is something that's allowed me to experience great success regardless of the routine.

Other highlights of the program include:

* The Power of the Mind - Many programs talk very little about the role that the mind-body connection plays in driving fantastic results, yet this is emphasized throughout the book with many practical tips to help you harness this power

* Comprehensiveness - The book touches on virtually every aspect of fitness and body sculpting...from exercises, to nutrition, to rest & recovery, and beyond

* Intensity - Supersetting and giantsetting techniques are used to provide a significant challenge, in contrast to more traditional, pyramid-based approaches

* Sincerity - Throughout the book and the DVD, the sincerity of the authors and their genuine desire to help readers achieve their goals is quite apparent; it makes it easier to follow a program when you feel the authors have the readers' best interests in mind

I will admit, I feel the book could have been even stronger with more extensive discussion of aerobic exercise, the inclusion of recent holistic approaches (core training, yoga, etc), and perhaps an even greater "facelift" from the original edition (color, font choices, layout). Yet these are minor issues in what is overall a very solid book.

In the end, this book is a great tool to help you achieve a new body. If you are willing to supply the determination and the action, the Body Sculpting Bible for Men will undoubtedly help you produce the results. I definitely recommend it.

Five Stars: Some points

By  Joker (Athens, GA)

If you want to look good with your shirt off, this book is excellent. The authors are sincere in their desire to help you. The book is very cheap compared to other fitness products, they don't ask that you spend lots of money on equipment or subscribe to any club, and they don't plug any particular products - they just tell you what's out there, what's junk and what worked for them. The advice is simple but effective - stop eating trash food, work out, and develop a good mental attitude. What they help provide for your 15 bucks is the motivation. If you want it, this book will give it to you.

Five Stars: Amazing!

By  Julian Klauz "jul's k." (parsippany, nj)

I've been working out for about 2 years. I was doing the same routine in the gym week in and week out.

I only learned by watching others and asking other people that work out questions. I've researched body building sites, but the info was limited.

As soon as I started following the advice in this book i saw immediate, immediate progress. It not only instructs you very clearly on a variety of proper exercises and form, but also gives key information on diet and believe it or not the mental aspect of working out.

I have seen and read other books on similar subject matter, but none broke it down quite as simply and honestly, and Completely as this one.

It was introduced to me by a recent friend who is a personal trainer, who said that this book is comparable (and even beyond that) to the information provided in his certification for training. But obviously not as technical.

The information in this book is honest, accurate, and effective.

Five Stars: Open…only if you want to change your life!

By  R.H.

This is by far the best book that I have found on weight training. However, more than the detailed descriptions of over 80 exercises and the free abs dvd, the authors provide sound guidance on nutrition and supplements. I have been on this workout plan for all of three weeks and have seen some significant gains. Plus, the varied 14 day work out plans make it easy for a busy professional to change up their workout schedule without a lot of planning and researching. overall, a top rate product and one that I plan to keep using for years to come.

Five Stars: Awesome book!

By  Lisa Collien "Club owner" (Waupun, Wi United States)

I have bought both the men's and women's version of this book. I own a health club and teach this method of nutrition and working out daily in my center. I recommend it to everyone!

Five Stars: Excellent book!

By  B. Miranda (Barrington, RI)

This is a great book. I am still in the first 2 weeks of the work out and I already can see results. The work out is one of the best ones I have followed as of yet. The book goes into great detail on each and every workout so if your a novice and never have picked up a weight before don’t worry, it helps you step by step. The nutrition guide for me was kind of confusing in the beginning but I read through the Nutrition chapter again and cleared it up for me. The food isn’t wonderful, you cant use any added salts or sugars. So it takes some getting used to. But one thing I can say is you definitely won’t go hungry. The portions are pretty large and you eat every 2-3 hours.

Over all it’s a great work out plan and has a great nutrition guide. (I dare not say 'diet' because diets are designed to fail. This helps you change your eating habits. And aids in getting the results you want from the gym.) I highly recommend it for anyone looking to change their life style and get a great body doing it.

My fiance is also following the one for women and is just as satisfied.

Five Stars: Excellent!

By  Curtis R. Jones "cujo63" (Rockford Il usa)

This book is a must have if you are serious about good nutrition and getting into shape. After 4 weeks of following their nutritional guide and their workout guide, I am in as good of shape as I was while in my early 20's as an airborne ranger in the military.

Five Stars: Good Book!

By  Kelly Marcus

This is a great book to get started in the gym. My husband and I bought these books to get some ideas for workouts. You can cater it to your own needs or you can follow their routine.

Five Stars: Great Book for Starters!

By  Eric McCormick "Leif@Large" (Houghton, MI USA)

Great book for beginners. Outlines a bit of nutrition, good explanations of exercises, avoids requiring professional equipment, and gives some good startup workout plans.

Five Stars: Extremely informative

By  S. D'Onofrio (philly, PA USA)

This book is a must have if you're really trying to get into shape. The detailed exercise descriptions help even more than I thought they would. The workout plan's are fantastic and I follow them regularly. The nutrition section was informative but the diet plans given seem a little excessive. If you are truly trying to see dramatic results in the shortest amount of time, they might work, but i couldn't see using them forever. I would recommend this book to anyone that is serious about weight training, whether rookie or veteran.

Five Stars: Gym made simple!

By  Razzle (Houston, TX United States)

I purchased this book two months ago and have made definite progress in improving my physical condition so I know the book works.

The book has three broad sections:

1) Nutrition - what to eat, when to eat, etc

2) Exercises - the correct way to execute an exercise specially when around weights

3) Workout routines

Further more there are three workout routines to choose from depending on the TYPE of physique you are aiming for:

1) break-in routines for beginners

2) body sculpting workout routines

3) mass building workout routines

Within these routines the authors have further divided the routines based upon the fact whether you do or do not have access to a properly equipped gym. So literally - there is plenty of choice and you pick the workout that you want according to your situation.

The one feature about this book that I really liked was their description of nutrition. Other reviewers have already written about that so I won't go into details in this review.

This book can give you the type of physique you are looking for and have you covered from all angles. Strongly recommended.

Five Stars: Well-structured Program

By  W & M Tide

This book covers virtually every aspect of body sculpting and includes well-designed programs for every level of conditioning, from raw beginner to advanced. Chapters include motivational information and the proper rep technique for maximum muscle stimulation. A comprehensive discussion of nutrition is followed by detailed sample diets and a complete, no-nonsense review of muscle building and testosterone enhancing supplements. Training chapters are organized by body part, with each exercise clearly illustrated in both text and photography. The bonus DVD leaves no doubt as to the proper form for each exercise. The training programs are set out thoroughly by day of the week and leave no room for error. Training programs are set available according to the type of equipment available and the trainee's level of conditioning. The overall quality of the text is excellent, with clear photography and well-written text devoid of typos. This program is perfectly suited to those who prefer to train at home, since it includes several intense, full-body conditioning programs that require no more equipment than a set of adjustable weight dumbbells and, ideally, an incline bench. As a lifelong fitness enthusiast, I learned several things I never knew, such as the ideal time of day to work out for maximum fat burning. If you have any interest in body sculpting at all, this book is well worth its modest cost.

Five Stars: Great Book for any level!

By  T. Kent (AZ USA)

I have been into bodybuilding for many years and this book has taught me some great things. The best thing about this book is its deep explanation of why/how you should do something. Very good book for all levels of training!

Five Stars: Excellent source of diet and exercise guidelines!

By  J. Edmunds (MT)

I have been sticking closely to the dietary/supplemental guidelines provided in this book for about 6 months now. I also started about 6 months ago working out 6 days a week following their recommended workout program. So far I have lost 34.5 pounds and 8% body fat. The exercise plan provided is progressive so you don't overstress your muscles or get discouraged. The diet plan is not too restrictive and fairly simple to follow. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a healthy diet/exercise program.

By  Edwin Gutierrez

Five Stars: Best on the Subject!

By  Kendra

I've been hesitant to purchase these types of books specifically for women, but did so once I saw the great reviews written here.

The great reviews here are well deserved. This is an AMAZING book. THis is the most thorough book I've seen on weight training. This book answered EVERY question that other books left unanswered. In addition, the workouts that are included in here are excellent. Not many books teach you how to alter your workout from day to day, from week to week, and from month to month. This one does.

An avid exerciser, I have been doing these workouts for a week. And, every day, I've been sore. I've felt muscles that I didn't realize I had. I used to weight train 3 days per week and do cardio three days per week. Now I've increased my weight training to six days per week and my cardio to six days per week, also. Each exercise is COMPLETELY explained in a way I've never seen before. If one follows the author's instruction, proper form is guaranteed.

Included are workouts for the absolute beginner, for the not-so-new beginner, for the advanced exerciser, and for those who don't have any body fat to lose, but want to gain muscle. For the advanced exerciser (which is what I'm doing), there are so many variations and routines that can follow you through 6 weeks. After that, you may want to cut your weight training back, or continue along those lines. I work out at home and am able to do these on my well-equipped home gym. Otherwise, I'd have to go to the gym. The basic workouts can be done at home with dumbbells and a bench.

This is my favorite book on this subject. As a matter of fact, I'm going to be taking a break from reading any other books on this subject for awhile. . . since everything I need to know at this time is included here. I may pick up the abs book, too, but that would be only because I'm so impressed with this book. As it is, I currently do the Slim in 6 abs routine six days per week rather than the recommended workout included here. For abs, it's just much easier for me to go along with a dvd.. . keeps the momentum up and the Slim in 6 abs routine is excellent.

Included also is a lot of diet information. It is also excellent, although I've kept to my own eating plan which I'm happy with.

I had the original and recently bought this when I found out the revised edition had come out. THe photos are a little better than in the original, and the layout better. I like the idea of the dvd, but I didn't really find it too helpful. They show the exercises, but it could have been more helpful for new exercisers. I don't think the dvd increases the value of this wonderful book, although I still love the book.

Lastly, the updated supplement section isn't that great. It's okay, but it's not wonderful and isn't that informative. It's written for beginners who may want to buy some supplements and can't decide what to buy and want someone to tell them what they should use. It's not enough information, and it seems a little subjective, rather than objective.

Still, the workouts are just excellent, and the information regarding each exercise is excellent, too. The only other book I've found that is better regarding exercising and working out is Arnold's Bodybuilding Encyclopedia which goes into great detail on each exercise, but doesn't include the type of workout routines I, or other buyers of THIS book need, so would not be for everyone.

Five Stars: A Truly Excellent Book!

By Laura I (Andrews AFB, MD United States)

I have been working out for many years, but like too many women, I rarely lifted any weights. My workouts consisted of cardio and a few floor exercises. However, when I started learning about all the benefits of weight lifting, such as improved metabolism, better body shape, and added protection against osteoporosis (particularly important for us women) I knew I needed to get started!

When I first got the book, I read through all of the information and while the nutritional information was helpful, I already had my own system that I follow. I felt like I was in decent enough shape that I decided to skip the two 'beginner's workouts' and got straight into the program. There are two workouts, each 6 weeks long. The first workout is for people who do not have access to gym equipment, and the second is for those who do. I don't have a gym membership so I've been doing the first workout. The workout adjusts every 2 weeks so that your body doesn't get used to it, and then once you've completed the 6th week you start over.

When I first started, I only used 5lb weights, which I was worried would be too light, but I was quite sore the next day. A feeling I've grown to appreciate. I have progressed to the point where I now use 15lb weights, and hope to continue adding weight as I get stronger. I have not gotten "bulky" as women often fear, instead my muscles have simply gotten more toned and defined, and I've noticed my body fat percentage lowering to the point where it's now 19%. I want to eventually reach 15%.

I was originally worried that I would need a lot of equipment that I don't have, but I haven't had a problem. I don't have a weight bench, so I use my couch. Where it instructs you to use a barbell, I just use free weights. Essentially all I use are free weights, and I haven't had a problem. The workout takes me about 30 minutes, 3 times a week. On days when I don't follow this program, I have been doing the Body Sculpting Bible for Abs workout. Also I do cardio after the workouts.

I think this is a great book and I highly recommend!

Five Stars: A must have for anyone who want to get in shape!

By ScallopShell

This book covers it all. It is not only a book filled with exercises and workout routines, it gives you an understanding of exactly what happens when you work out and begins to shape your body. There is also a section on nutrition and the interaction of different foods with your body. There are different workouts routines depending on where you want to be and if you are a beginner or someone who has been exercising regularly.

I just wanted to sculpt and tone, so I followed that one. The exercises are easy to understand and explained in detail. The DVD also goes over proper technique.

I highly recommend this book for any woman who wishes to get her body in shape.

Five Stars: Wish I had found it sooner!

By Andi (Mass)

Great book. Easy to read. The workout routines are plainly laid out and easy to follow. I just got this book to tone up after my second child and it has definitely helped. I don't follow the diet suggestions but the workouts are great just the same. There is a section in the book for women who are nursing while using this routine which is a great addition that I haven't seen in many other books. I highly recommend this book.

Five Stars: This workout = me 36 pounds lighter!!!

By Thinner Me (United States)

This workout is worth trying. I committed myself to doing the exercises for three months. It has now been four months and I have lost 36 pounds. I don't follow the eating plan they have, but I do think some aspects of it are good. My husband has followed the man's version, and is now 50 pounds lighter and is showing some serious definition in his chest. I did not get bulky, and I have nice definition on my legs and arms. OH, and it KILLED the upper arm wiggle!! Think of this book as an investment in your future; it will pay off.

Five Stars: A great resource for weight lifting!

By Karin Norgard "www.joy-in-motion.com" (Anchorage, Alaska, USA)

This book is an excellent resource for weight lifting. In addition to providing photographs of women performing each exercise, it also provides information on the technique required to perform them safely and effectively. This book also gives sample programs for beginners through more advanced lifters, providing a framework for building a weightlifting program based on supersets. Although it provides some excellent information on why supersets are so effective, there is also some exercise and nutrition information in here that I do not agree with. However, it is an excellent resource for finding exercises. I would recommend it to beginning personal trainers who are looking for a resource for exercises as well as reminders about form and information on building a routine based on supersets. I would also recommend it for those who have the basics of weight lifting down but are looking to improve their technique and add additional exercises for better results and to mix things up. Overall, a great book for the exercises themselves, but not necessarily a book to be trusted for other information.

Five Stars: Good Book!

By Kelly Marcus

This is a great book to get started in the gym. My husband and I bought these books to get some ideas for workouts. You can cater it to your own needs or you can follow their routine.

Five Stars: Great for Beginners!

By J. Shirley

I've always had a very high metabolism and always been able to eat what I want and never worry about gaining weight. That is, until I hit 25. I never knew how to exercise because I never felt like I needed to before. The original version of this book popped out at me at the bookstore one day and I bought it hoping maybe to get some insight. Wow. I am very pleased with the results I have gotten by following this program. I have since given that book to my mom and bought the revised edition and am still tickled. If you want to work out but don't know where to even begin, this book is definitely for you.

Five Stars: Informative!

Has great pictures to show proper form. Organized very well. Great book to read and become motivated by. I recommend it.

Five Stars: Bust out of that plateau!

By Cassye Delphy (Austin, TX)

**This is a review of the training portion of the book only. I have a tough time sticking to nutrition plans, and just try to eat smaller portions of reasonably healthy food.**

I was a dedicated to Bill Phillips' Body for Life workouts, and saw a lot of great results from the training. However, I was bored to tears with the same old workouts, and had hit a serious plateau in appearance and performance. I love this program because the workouts are varied, there are so many workouts, AND you can personalize each workout by choosing from numerous exercises for each muscle group. I love knowing that I'll be doing a different routine with every session, and I have noticed a significant difference in my lower body, triceps and abs. The photos and descriptions for each exercise are thorough and make it easy for beginners and experienced weight trainers. Great book to get you out of your workout rut!!!

Five Stars: Body Sculpting Bible for Women

By Loveguitar (Georgia, USA)

I wanted a harder, leaner, meaner bod so I bought this book. It has lots of pictures and answered many of my questions. I can't say I exercise nearly to the extent they suggest in the book, but I am at least, a little meaner.

It comes with a short DVD demonstrating some male and female exercise routines. I'd rather they just made 2 separate DVD's - one for the men's body building bible and one for the women's, but it was worth a view. It's nice that such a book specifically for women was written and I suspect that if you follow it's directions to a tee you will definitely get a more muscular body.

Five Stars: Explicit

Five Stars: A must have for anyone who wants to get their abs in shape!

By  ScallopShell

This is a great book for anyone wanting to get their abs in shape. Different exercises are described in detail with proper technique and form. There are also different workouts routines depending on where you want to be and if you are a beginner or someone who has been exercising regularly.

Exercises vary and are not limited to the standard crunches and sit-ups. Your core is worked to give you a complete workout of your entire abdominal area.

I highly recommend this book along with "the Body Sculpting Bible for Women" for any woman who wishes to get her body in shape.

Five Stars: Excellent Ab Workout

By Laura I (Andrews AFB, MD United States)

I've been doing the Body Sculpting Bible for Women for awhile now and I was looking for a way to improve my abs as well. Now I alternate between days when I do this ab workout and days when I do the original Body Sculpting Bible for Women workout. Both are excellent books!

Equipment Needed:

A lot of people have been complaining about various equipment that you need. 1. You do need a balance ball, I got one off of amazon.com for $14, they're also available at stores like Walmart and Target, fairly cheaply. 2. You'll probably also want to get either a Weighted Ball or Medicine Ball, although you can replace many of the weighted ball activities with a free weight. I got a 10lb weighed ball off of amazon for $10. 3. There is some gym equipment that the book suggests you use, in many cases you can do simple substitutions. For example, in the case of a barbell, I use free weights. There's also something used called an "ab original", it's a sort of sling attached to a pull up bar that you can dangle from while doing leg lifts. In this case, I simply hung from a pull up bar with my hands and did the leg lifts.

Whenever there are moves that you can't do because either it is too difficult or you don't have the proper equipment you can simply browse through the many listings of exercise and choose a substitute.

Keep in mind this book is for people who are serious about exercise and about their abs. If all you're willing to do is a handful of sit ups, then you probably shouldn't buy this book and should just get down on the floor and go ahead with those sit ups.

All in all I felt that this book has an excellent and thorough collection of ab and back exercises.

Five Stars: Great Book!!

By  E. Leifert

Great book for people that needed to know the basics of working out the abs.

Five Stars:  So simple!

By  E. Mallett "Homeschool Momma" (Edmond, OK, USA)

The instructions in this book are so easy to understand. The exercises are varied- from basic to complex, there is something in it for everyone, regardless of your physical condition. I have a home gym and have been able to use my own equipment (weights, ball, etc.) If ever an exercise calls for something I don't have, I just choose another exercise to do instead. There are also LOTS of mat exercises too. I have the other book by these authors- the Body Sculpting Bible and I love it! I use it everyday. This ab book has been a nice complement to my regular exercise routine.

Five Stars: Great exercises, clear, easy to read!

By A Customer

This is a really great book. The exercises are killer and there's a whole section on fitness balls (they call them Swiss balls in the book), which are really fun to use. I also liked the fact that they give you lower back exercises, too. Also, it's not too stupidly expensive, like some of the other workout books out there. I give it thumbs up.

Five Stars: ABsolutely great!

By Andrew Lawrence (NY, NY)

I have been in search of a complete ab program for women and I discovered this book. It contains detailed workout plans and dozens of great exercises for both at home and the gym make it really helpful.

The pictures are clear and easy follow. The exercise descriptions are concise and filled with "trainer tips".

Great book. Recommended for my gal pals who want a trim tummy!

Five Stars: It's all in the mind!!

By  D. Gruender

As a Personal Trainer I have learned that to get my clients to go that little bit further in order to achieve exceptional results, I have to teach them how to use not only their bodies, but, more importantly, their minds. This book gave me loads of ideas and examples and has been of immense value in my job. And my own training has benefitted too! A great book, highly recommended to fitness professionals, experienced and begginners alike.

Five Stars: Useful for everyone

By Andrew Finch "alwaysnow" (Daegu, Buk-ku Korea, Republic of)

This review is from: The Body Sculpting Bible For Abs: Men's Edition (Paperback)

Despite the title, you don't have to be a fitness freak in order to use this book. Back pain and back disorders are very common with office workers these days, and this book offers some excellent exercises that deal with it. The book itself is about sculpting your ABS, but it acknowledges that the back is an integral part of this process. By following the exercises in this book (first the warmups and then the more strenuous ones), you can strenghten the whole of your waist area, and your back will benefit.

The author stresses that the whole body must be exercised, in addition to the ABS exercises; they cannot be performed alone. This holistic approach is a valuable foundation, and continues throughout the book. It is good to have well-reasoned explanations of the theory behind the activities, along with some well-structured 14-day plans.

This review is written from the point of view of someone trying to sort out his back, rather than going for a washboard figure. I have found the exercises to be very effective, even when performed lightly. Whatever your goals and physical condition, however, this book offers excellent exercises and exercise plans, which can be adopted to your needs.

Five Stars: Best book on abs…period!!!

By Jake

I admit that the diet part it lacking, but one search on a search engine can pull up anything you need to know about diets. The workouts in this book range in difficulty, and some you really have to build up to. The pictures and explanations of how to do the exercises are great, and the trainers tips can help you fix some common mistakes you might make. I like how it also goes over working out with gym equipment, medicine ball, an aerobics workout ball, and on the floor. This book is packed with exercises that even if you have a 6-pack it will still make you feel the burn. For people who expect more than this, I cant imagine being able to master all the exercises in this book and being able to do some of the aerobics ball workouts more than 15 repititions. I am already seeing my abs come out, with diet and exercise of course, and without this book I would be stuck in a rut not knowing how to work out all areas of my abdominals.

Five Stars: Great Ab book!

By  T. A. Kocher "Rettom" (Phoenix, AZ)

This review is from: The Body Sculpting Bible For Abs: Men's Edition (Paperback)

If you're like me and balk at sit-ups, but serious about working your core muscles, more specifically your abdominals, then this is your book. The author provides insightful details about the mechanics of the muscles as well as providing easy to follow pictures for strength training. The training program (ever increasing in difficulty) is simple to follow and the weekly workouts are integrated enough to avoid burnout of the same 'ol, i.e., ab crunches. This is a well balanced book and is the best abdominal training regime I've seen. Trust me, its good for you!

Five Stars: A Concise Guide to Ab Workouts!

By  C. Paul (Colorado Springs, CO)

I've been an avid fan of the Body Sculpting series of books for over a year now, and recently picked up this book -- The Body Sculpting Bible for Abs." Villepigue does a fantastic job of leveling with the reader and giving you the necessary information to really sculpt your abs. There are no gimmicks in this book, just pure, sensible advice on what needs to be done to get a six-pack.

That being said, the book is a little shorter than I would have liked. Since I follow the workout routines in the original Bodysculpting Bible, I would have liked to see the Abs book tie in more with those routines. Instead, it offers you completely independent 14-day workouts. It's up to the reader to tie those in with any other workout program they are already on.

I would have also liked to see a larger section on diet. In my experience, sculpting the perfect abs is 90% diet and 10% exercise. Instead, the majority of this book is dedicated to illustrating new and interesting ab workout techniques using the floor, Swiss ball, and medicine ball. All interesting stuff, but only a few pages are dedicated to diet advice and recommendations.

This is still a wonderful reference to have around, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to seriously chisel out those abs!

I originally purchased The Body Sculpting Bible for Men not long ago and noticed that they had an accompany book to go along with it.....I just HAD to buy a copy for myself. And that's what I did. Once I received MY copy of The Body Sculpting Bible for ABS: Men, I read it over and over. At east 2 times now. It's very informative and is packed with useful tools and ideas. Everything you need to know is in this book! I would DEFINITELY recommend this book to any one interested in weight training.

Five Stars: Great Ab Workout Book!

By Andrew Lawrence (NY, NY)

This review is from: The Body Sculpting Bible For Abs: Men's Edition (Paperback)

I would definitely recommend this book. It presents a solid plan of action for building great abs. Since I have been using it, my midsection is already tighter and my six pack is starting to peek through.

Dozens of exercises for home and gym. Great photos so its easy to follow. Detailed workouts for a routine that doesn't get boring. Very up to date. Even includes nutrition guidance.

It's a great deal and belongs on any guy's shelf who wants to look his best. Recommended to all!

Dear James,

As you know, I have worked out religiously for about 40 years, but for the last 10-15 years, I have been unable to improve my performance. Since I started training with you, I am delighted to report that I have improved my performance in virtually every muscle group.

You have an incredible knowledge about all aspects of fitness, including,

·         The proper way to perform exercises I learned, for the first time, how to correct improper form in many of the exercises I have done for years.)

·         How to select the best exercises and how to structure sets, reps, supersets, and workout schedules to optimize performance, and

·         Proper nutrition principles and mental outlook.

If I were not so highly impressed with your knowledge and professionalism ( and the results), I would never drive one hour each way for each one-hour training session with you. You are a true professional in your field.

Last but not least, you genuinely like people, and always have a great, upbeat attitude.

It has been a great pleasure to work with you and to know you, and I look forward to our nest session together.
